Dr. Manon Pieper: Programme Director International Business THUAS

Manon started her professional career as a consultant for information management at VHIC. Their professional courses first sparked her interest in developing business professionals. After moving to Qatar in 2009, she set up a new department in information management for Qatar Foundation, managing a corporate digitization project. Two years later, she transferred to HEC Paris to set up their global Executive MBA programme in Doha. Her last position was that of Research & Partnerships Manager, becoming in charge of the overseas research office and setting up strategic partnerships for applied research in the MENA region. When she moved back to The Hague in the summer of 2017, she brought back tons of experience in terms of working in a highly commercial top-tier business school – HEC Paris’ MBA has been ranked #1 in the world by the Financial Times for several years now.   

In 2017, Manon was appointed as the MBA Pogramme Manager at THUAS where she implemented two curriculum changes with regards to leadership development and sustainability; and recently she established the strategic partnership with Center of Expertise Mission Zero which will allow MBA students to develop extracurricular skills in terms of sustainability and circular business. Manon also focused on standardizing the programme structure, more efficient scheduling, and team development. In 2020, the MBA adopted the concept of learning communities. 

On August 1st, 2021, Manon will officially take her place as the Programme Director of International Business at THUAS.  

Manon’s primary area of expertise is the development of business professionals. Throughout her professional career, Manon has focused on implementing processes and educational training to help individuals flourish in their respective careers. Her passion for this field comes from her desire to help people achieve their ambitions and the satisfaction of seeing them succeed.

As the programme director of IB, Manon’s principal goal is to provide those students with the means and motivation to become effective business professionals with strong leadership skills. Her personal vision for IB is that it continues to lay the foundation for the future of successful business professionals who are recognizable members of the IB learning community evident in the qualities they have built during their time in the programme.
